Specialty Testing
DNA Testing
Genetic testing is a type of medical test that identifies changes in genes, chromosomes, or proteins. The results of a genetic test can confirm or rule out a suspected genetic condition or help determine a person’s chance of developing or passing on a genetic disorder. It can also determine vitamin deficiency, causes of chronic illness, and help determine treatment options.

Alpha-GAL Syndrome
What is Alpha-Gal?
  • Alpha-gal (galactose-α-1,3-galactose) is a sugar molecule found in most mammals.
  • Alpha-gal is not found in fish, reptiles, birds, or people.
  • Alpha-gal can be found in meat (pork, beef, rabbit, lamb, venison, etc.) and products made from mammals (including gelatin, cow’s milk, and milk products).

Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) is a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic condition caused by a tick bite. AGS symptoms can occur hours after eating red meat or exposed to other products containing alpha-gal. AGS symptoms can be different for every person; some symptoms include hives, indigestion, diarrhea, severe stomach pain, or face swelling.

Heavy Metals

Heavy metal poisoning is caused by the accumulation of certain metals in the body due to exposure through food, water, industrial chemicals, vaccines, MRI w/contrast, and other sources. These may be exacerbated by dirty genes or mutations in DNA. Hair testing can be obtained or a heavy metals urine test with IV chelation.

Treatment can include;
  • HOCATT - an ozone sauna
  • IV chelation
  • Advanced TRS Spray
MTHFR
Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is an enzyme that breaks down the amino acid homocysteine. If the MTHFR gene that codes for this enzyme mutates, it may contribute to a variety of health conditions ranging from depression to some cancers. People have two MTHFR genes, inheriting one from each of their parents. Mutations can affect one (heterozygous) or both (homozygous) of these genes.
Picture
Having MTHFR can reduce your methylation system or detox system anywhere from 20%-80% which can cause chronic illness. The mutations can lead to high levels of homocysteine in the blood, which may contribute to several health conditions, including:
  • birth anomalies
  • glaucoma
  • certain mental health conditions
  • certain types of cancer

Eliminating folic acid (man made folate) and enriched, fortified, and processed foods is a start. Detoxing the body of heavy metals and toxins is very important.

For more information, "Dirty Genes" by Dr. Ben Lynch is a great book to read.
